Make a donatation! The Paley Foundation
Our Story
We were blessed with our daughter Norah Shay Howes otherwise known as "Bean" in September of 2012. She was born with a condition called Congenital Femoral Deficiency also commonly referred to as "C.F.D." and a mild case of Fibular Hemimelia. At the time, we didn't know if she would walk or how serious her condition was. A healthy baby is always every parent's wish and I can't even begin to describe the heartbreak we felt when they told us the news. Upon bringing her home, we immediately began researching her condition and discovered Dr. Dror Paley, the pioneer for limb lengthening and reconstruction. Patients from all over the world travel to West Palm Beach, Florida to see him and we were so blessed to find that he is just a 2 1/2 hour drive from where we live. We felt this was in God's plan and His way of assuring us she would be okay. Upon meeting Dr. Paley's staff , we had a definitive treatment plan we could trust and seeing a doctor here in Orlando seemed senseless if the best was only a short distance away. Dr. Paley reassured us he would be able to lengthen her leg through various surgeries giving her the ability to walk with both feet on the ground.

Rich's win at the Bassmaster Southern Open was an incredible blessing to our family. His win included a seat at The Bassmaster Classic 2014 next February. Only 50 fishermen in the world will compete in this event and Rich will now have the privilege of fulfilling his lifelong dream. This opportunity has weighed heavily on our hearts and we believe God has given us another mission along with pursuing a win at The Bassmaster Classic. After meeting the staff at The Paley Institute along with some of the "Paley Families", we immediately wanted to help. We met some of the most incredible people during our first appointment and have established friendships with other parents near and far, some of whom we have never met. It is amazing the connection we already have to other families. The Paley Institute isn't just another hospital, it is another home. Through this fundraiser we hope to help The Paley Foundation improve the lives of children and families across the world and we are dedicated toward helping them carry out their mission. We dedicate this mission to our daughter Norah and all of the Paley patients and families.
